Words have such a profound effect on changing your energetic frequency that positive Affirmations are a powerful tool in helping you reach your True Essence by removing your negative limiting beliefs and attracting what you do want into your Life.
What Are Affirmations?
Affirmation are simply statements that are repeated, either out loud or in your mind, with confidence as a perceived truth. The fact is we constantly use Affirmations, often negative, without ever realizing it. We’re all permanently telling ourselves that we won’t get that job, or not qualified for that position, or will never have enough money, or will never find the right partner. These are Affirmations we likely tell ourselves the entire time, and they impact our Belief system, so the first thing to be Mindful of the negative Affirmations you likely keep repeating to yourself and then begin a program of Positive Affirmations to begin enhancing and improving your Life.
Now, it is important to understand that Affirmations have helped millions of people significantly improve their Lives by changing limiting beliefs they had about themselves and their circumstances, but they don’t always work for everyone. There are other Tools I will be blogging about that can help if Affirmations don’t work for you, but Affirmations are certainly a good place to begin!
Why Do Affirmations Work?
Affirmations have the ability to program your mind into believing the statement that you repeat. This is because our Minds do not know the difference between reality and non-reality. Our Minds accept what we tell it as real, whether or not what is happening is real or whether it is not. False pregnancies (or Phantom pregnancies) where a person believes she is pregnant, and has all the symptoms of being pregnant and carrying a child is an extreme, yet fascinating example of this.
When a Belief is deeply rooted in our unconscious mind its impact is immense. This is why sometimes Affirmations are not strong enough, namely the limiting belief is so ingrained and has been there so long, they Affirmations are not strong enough to remove them. I will discuss other tools in the future, but for now, I will share with you how best to make Affirmations work for you in your Life.
What do you really Want?
The first step is of course to understand what it is that you want! Be very clear about this and then be clear where you have a Limiting Belief that contradicts it, for example if you really want to be financially success, but have a view that wealthy people are bad people, then that would be what you wish to overcome.
It can be useful to carry round a notebook for a week and make a list of any recurring limiting beliefs that come up, such as ‘I’ll never lose that weight’ or “I’m useless’ or I’m always late for work’ etc. This will give you key insight into what you may need to overcome to change your Belief.
Once you have a clear idea of what it is that you want and the Limiting Belief that is stopping you from having it, then you can continue with Step 2 in the Affirmation process.
Affirm, Affirm, Affirm
Develop your Affirmation statements. These statements need to be succinct, direct and meaningful. Here are some examples:
Finances:
• I am wealthy today and I will be wealthy tomorrow.
• Wealth flows into my life very smoothly without my facing any obstruction.
• The Universe has chosen me to be wealthy so that I can help humanity with my wealth.
• I am open and willing to receive wealth in all of its forms
• I feel good about money and deserve it in my life
• I feel great joy in providing for my family and those I love
• I place no limits on the amount of money I can make and have as much as I need or want
Health:
• I am full of energy and vitality and my mind is calm and peaceful.
• Every day in every way I am getting healthier and healthier and feeling better and better.
• I eat healthy, nutritious food that benefits my body
• I possess a healthy body
• My body feels good
• I exercise regularly and eat only good nutritious food
Relationships
• I am open to marrying the Love of my Life.
• My marriage grows stronger and more Loving every single day.
• My marriage is built on Love, trust and loyalty.
• I am ready to meet the man/woman that I AM going to marry.
• I am grateful to God for my beautiful and Loving marriage.
Of course, the Affirmation can be about any area of your Life: Self-esteem, Diet, Forgiveness…..anything you would like to improve.
Then, each day, Affirm, Affirm, Affirm. Morning, Midday and Evening!!
Speak the Affirmation, either out loud or in your Mind, for around five minutes three times a day. It can be helpful to do this in front of a mirror, and also writing it down can help also. The Affirmations may at first sound strange and uncomfortable (since you currently do not believe them!) and your Body may pick up on this and feel a little discomfort. Indeed it is important to select Affirmations that don’t sit too far away from your current thinking – since your Body will be aware of the dissonance with Reality, even if you Mind will not. For example, starting off affirming that you will be a Billionaire next month when you are currently out of work may be too large an internal conflict to Affirm immediately, it may be better to start affirming that you feel good about receiving money and welcome it into your Life.
If you are writing your Affirmations, also be mindful of your Writings, for example your handwriting may change over time – for example it may become bolder and larger as you begin to believe it more!
It may also help to “breathe” into the Affirmation while you are repeating or writing it, until your breather truly becomes at one and comfortable with what you are repeating.
30 Day Rule
Write or repeat your Affirmations 3x per day for at least the next 30 days. Traumatic events can impact your subconscious in an instant, but every day events and simple repetitions need at least 30 days to impress upon your unconscious Mind. If you skip a day, then you must go back and start over and begin with another 30 days. It must be 30 consecutive days.
And So it is
And…….it is very important that after each Affirmation statement, you add ‘and So it is’ and mean it. This is You telling the Universe that so it is, and this is often forgotten or left out of many writings on Affirmations. The stronger you Believe ‘and so it is’, the stronger you Feel that it already is, the sooner and quicker the Affirmation will become part of your Belief system and start serving your needs and goals the way you want it to.
Affirmations are a powerful tool to help manifest change you desire in your Life. Start today and see how your life improves!
“Your beliefs become your thoughts, Your thoughts become your words, Your words become your actions, Your actions become your habits, Your habits become your values, Your values become your destiny”
