Diet Tip No. 2: Eat Fruit and Vegetables
Start by focusing on getting the recommended 5-9 servings of fruits and vegetables each day. “It sounds like a lot, but it is well worth it, because at the same time you are meeting your fiber goals and feeling more satisfied from the volume of food,” says chef Laura Pansiero, RD.
More than 200 studies have documented the disease-preventing qualities of phytochemicals found in produce, says Pansiero.
Start the day with fruit. It saves important minutes during the morning rather than sitting down and eating cereal and provide you with a wondeful light start to the day that is filled with energy. Combine it with a fruit juice, such as OJ, pineapple, mango, tomato and you’ve made a great start.
Next, eat salad lunch!! and then work vegetables into mealtime instead of just serving them as sides on a plate.
Best Diet Tip No. 3: No unhealthy nighttime snacks.
Mindless eating occurs mostly after dinner.
“Sitting down with a bag of chips or cookies in front of the television is an example of eating amnesia, where you mindlessly eat without being hungry, but out of habit,” says American Dietetic Association spokesperson Malena Perdomo, RD.
Drink water or green tea instead. The truth is you’re not truly hungry, just BORED!!!! Drink water and it will quench the feeling of hunger.
Best Diet Tip No. 4: Use non-food alternatives to cope with stress.
Instead of turning to food for comfort, have non-food comforts available. Listen to music, write in a journal, meditate, take a bath…………just don’t eat food! If you need to eat, eat fruit.
Best Diet Tip No. 6: Don’t buy crap in the Supermarket (and don’t shop when hungry)
I just went to eat something. I looked for Chips, but didnt have so I ate a can of tuna instead. I replaced 250 calories with 100, and instead of eating food with no nutritional value I ate a tin of Omega 3.
Best Diet Tip No. 6: Spice it up.
Add tabasco or chiles to your food – it rumoured it increases your metabolism!
Basically, Food is meant to be our “Gas”, its meant to provide our energy. So how come so often after eating do we feel more sluggish and have less energy — it’s because we are all eating the wrong food!! After eating you should feel light and refreshed. If you don’t have more energy after eating then you are eating the wrong food!!! It’s our Gas, treat it as such!!!
Focus on how great you feel, how much better you sleep and how much more energy you have.
